This is a shot of a classic of pre-war industrial design. It's the turn signal mounted on the fender of a beautifully restored 1938 Chevrolet. These were optional accessories back then and not all owners had them. It's a wonderful example of 1930's streamlining, as pioneered by Raymond Loewy. These design themes found their way from the industrial arena into the everyday appliances people had in their homes. If you compare things like radios, refrigerators and other home appliances and items from the 1930's, you'll see the similarities to the industrial designs of the day. Many of the design cues can be found in today's industrial designs.
