660 ton sphere of steel, set at 384m height in the world's tallest operational building, the Taipei 101, Taipei, Taiwan, Republic of China.

It's designed to act as a mass damper (through inertia) to reduce the movement of the top of the building in storms.

I dragged a rubbish bin into place to act as the camera support. The security guards were not inpressed...

    I also visited the 101 -- great building -- but could not manage a shot of the counterweight. Great job, Dirk, you really captured it in a way that shows it as 'space-age'.
