A cottontail ran freely
Neath' a Lilac bush,
In late afternoons hush,
When it saw me
With camera on tripod,
It hid scared and curled
This creature of God
Had entered my world.

For awhile it stayed;
Brave but afraid,
Not far from my tripod
Within just a few feet.
Yes, it surely was odd
That we should meet.

I knelt on my knees
O'er grounds icy freeze
To watch this shy hare,
Knowing God counts
Each strand of our hair
We both live on His land
To inhabit the earth~
Except I am born human
Not rabbit by birth!

Did he give you time to set your camera up? Seems you two formed a bond! Love the pic and the poem.

Thank you all for your kind words. In reply your question Lesley, I already had the tripod set up and was thinking about doing a different SP when the rabbit came loping into the scene. I very quietly turned the tripod around and tried to estimate where I would be in the photo...I wanted the picture to feature more rabbit and little of me.

That is a remarkable incident that allowed this splendid photo. This is a very pretty setting for you and the rabbit. The poem is lovely too. Great work, Andrea.

That is a cute photo of the rabbit and you where you got in the photo just in time. That must have been tricky to get that picture where it looks like you have been standing looking at the rabbit for some time. A very interesting pose! Blessings from your sister Bonnie

Actually Bonnie I knelt down on the ground to get this low angle of the rabbit and myself. I tried to be as inconspicuous as I could be to not scare the rabbit before the self-timer went off. The minute I stood up the rabbit, was off like a shot. Thanks for comment.
