...Spring up, O well; sing ye unto it.... Numbers 21:17

Lift voice to sing
When signs of spring
Follows melting snow
and flowers grow.
Sing e'er awesome
Oh do it well...
For every blossom
Casts its spell.
Poetry by me AJP

I am looking at a songbook by Reader's Digest entitled: "Lift every Voice and Sing." It has 128 favorite songs. My poetry was inspired by both the title of the songbook and the Bible verse from Numbers 21:17. It is a very good feeling that tomorrow is the first day of spring. I am anxious for the trees to start blooming and when they do, I will be taking one of my self portraits for the daily diary series in the same spot where I am sitting on this portrait. (right in view of the apple and plum trees.)
At the moment I am just thankful the snow has melted in the yard. The chunks of wood are from an old dead elm tree ..We hired the power company to cut the tree down so it wouldn't fall on the lines and my husband split the wood afterwards.

Things are budding out here and from the looks of the melted snow, will be there soon. A wonderful SP!

It is nice to see you in the warm sunshine without a blanket of snow. I can't wait for the flowers! Great sp, Andrea.

YEA! The snow is gone. Congratulations on your warm spell. Will it last? We always have several false starts to Spring, followed by frost or hard freezes.

Thanks to all for your comments...Donald, I doubt that we'll make it through the rest of March without more snow...but at least it doesn't last.

What amazes me is how fast the snow is melting. Of course, it doesn't seem fast to you when you are anxious for things to green up and flowers to bloom. We have a lot of beautiful spring flowers blooming here right now but when it gets really warm they die out if they are annuals. Plants like the Azalea bloom very early here then peak out in a few weeks and the blooms all drop off. We are left with a green plant until the next spring. Soon I will be looking to plant flowers that can stand our heat. Great SP of you on the big logs and I will look forward to seeing your trees that bloom out in another SP in that same spot : )

It is wonderful to see the snow has melted!! I am happy to see you out and about with no coat!! I am looking forward to seeing your flowering trees, a sure sign spring is really here. It seems like winter decided to get in its last licks as I woke up to 1/2 an inch of fresh snow today. It has the weather man stummped, he said it would be 46 and sunny today!

Andrea, I like this photo of you singing on these logs. Those logs make for good seating! I look forward to the photos when the apple and plum trees are in full bloom. Blessings from Bonnie
