Yesterday after leaving work, I decided that I needed to clear my head of the world atrocities, for a while. So I drove up the street to the base of a mountain and decided to hike to the top. (*Note, do not try this in flip flops) I grabbed my camera bag and started climbing. It was early dusk, the light was beautiful, it was cool and cloudy, the paths were lined with honeysuckle, and the trees were old and beautiful…all of the sudden I was in a Disney Animation. It started with the squirrels, there were so many…and they were following me, then the birds were singing to me, there were hundreds of them, a chipmunk crossed the road in my path, and when I looked over, baby Bambi was standing there about three feet from me grazing. Thumper was nowhere to be found. I thought that any minute the birds were going to lift my camera bag off of my shoulder and carry it for me. I didn’t point my camera at any of these creatures because I didn’t want to give them a false sense of security (probably about 50% of the population here has a carry permit), so I convinced a few trees from the enchanted forest to pose for me.
On my drive home I left the radio off for fear that zip pity do da, or the world news might be on.

Oh, and I shot some "real film" today. Hopefully something I can post later.

"West of the fields, west of the fields, west of the fields, west of the fields
Long gone, long gone, long gone, long gone. West of the fields
Dreams of Elysian, to assume are gone when we try
    Tell now what is dreaming
When we try to listen with your eyes oversimplify"
I don't know why this photo made me think of R.E.M.'s Murmur album.
