It was a hot tropical day, perfect for a rafting trip. I was staying in Ubud, Bali, Indonesia. It was a couple days after Christmas 2008 when I captured this photograph. It's kind of funny, I almost decided to not risk taking my Canon 50D for fear of getting it drenched. In the end, obviously, I took it along. This beautiful tropical river traversed through a some lush tropical forest cascading through a gorge of unique beauty. The Ubud area of Bali is the artisan center of Bali. Art is of great importance to the people of Bali. One section of the river we decided to stop to photograph the stone carvings that were carved into the side of the gorge walls for some 1500 meters. It was a common spot for rafters to stop and enjoy the enchantment of this surreal beauty. With the locals knowing this was a hot spot, several enterprising young women would haul in refreshments and sell them to the rafters. It was at days end and these women had packed their bags of snacks and refreshment and were beginning to make their way to the other side of the river to the trail that would lead them out of the jungle. It was a very specific course that must of been memorized. They were all hooked together each one holding onto the other as they meandered through the current obviously knowing the shallowest areas. The reason they are in their panties is because they didn't want to get their clothes wet. They were so innocent but yet so alluring to watch.
