I spotted this little fella cruising across my driveway this afternoon. I have no idea what type of spider he is To be honest they scare the crap out of me and this only fortifies that phobia for me. Still made for a one heck of a macro shot. It creeped me out to get down right in front of him and when I did he stopped, raised up on his back legs and froze like he was waiting for me to make the next move. ISO 400, F5.6, 100mm MACRO.

LOL Alexandra, the hair was standing up on my arms when I was laying on the ground trying to get as close to him as I could. I could almost here him saying "GET AWAY!".

Andrew, I think I will have to create an album of "BY CHANCE" photos as some of my most favorite photos like this little guy all happen by chance and wind up better then many that I set out to capture with the intention of taking.

    Thank you both!

Fantastic capture!!! I have tried and tried to get a wolf spider to react to me like this, and they won't do it!! I think all of us have a lot of shots that are great just because we are there at the right time, lol!
