I'm not sure if a tombstone in fall can be called 'forgotten' but sure your photo has a character, spirit and meaning. Reading what the descendants of Brigid Anne (whose memorial day will be in 6 days as of today, Nov. 19) wrote on her stone bring hope for the living one. I'll adopt it.

    My appreciation.

BTW, did you try to turn the image to b&w/

Ethan Burnette said (20 Nov 2009):

It's 'forgotten' because it was covered under a pile a leavings and dirt and only when a sweeping gust of wind revealed it, was I able to see it.

I'm not sure if you have seen my other work but black and white is my preferred style. Black and white for this photograph, however, would ruin the rich fall colors and add no real emotion in the long run. Sure I could have gotten the "B&W tombstone emotion" but I think this photograph deserves more than that. She deserves a lively, colorful feeling.
