3 days I had sat with Dr. Nair.

Some people leave a greater impression on me. Even within the lovely people of rural India, there are some that put even more then a smile of great ease in my sole. A feeling of expansion. I tend to relate to them as enlightened. Less attached to the roller coaster named life.

Dr. Nair lives in a tiny village. He is practically blind. Yet, like all Ayurvedic (In Hindi: आयुर्वेद) doctors he does the full service: diagnostics, prescription and preparation of herbal medicine. The way he is dressed with the Doti and topless is traditional to Kerala (In Malayalam lanuguage = കേരളം) state.

So far he accepts patients in the balcony, the one leading to this medicine room, three steps up from the street level. He took me to the back and showed me the room he started building for bed treatments but it takes a long time due to the little profit he makes. I found out when I paid for my medicine that he really stands behind his value of curing people for a minimum pay without extorting them.
