Our comely parts have no need: but God hath tempered the body
together, having given more abundant honour to that which lacked. That there should be no schism in the body; but that the members should have the same care for another...and whether one member suffer, all the members suffer with it; or one member be honoured,
all the members rejoice with it...I Corinthians 12:24:25:26

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I look to natures significant other,

To watch the habits of birds.

There are not enough words

To show how they share;

How they nurture their young,

And how they both care

To love and remember

Each family member,

Not only as a mother,

And a devoted father

But they honour one another

Poetry by me, AJP

--------------------------------------------------------------------

I love to see the interactions between the cardinals, the male
and female who stay with their mates all year long...They love each other, they both tend to the nests and give great care to their young...
They are wonderful examples to humans who may have a lot of
luxuries but are still not happy with their lot...The birds have to learn to survive on very little comforts and winters are tough on them. If they are not fed seeds to supplement their food intake many of them die because of the cold weather... They give us so much joy that it is the least we can do to keep them alive..

Beautiful capture, Andrea. I have seen the male bring food to the female as she sits on the eggs (it was raining). They are so devoted to each other. People could take a lesson.

Excellent photo! Cardinals are so beautiful and interesting to see them with their mates. We used to have parakeets in our atrium and they were so interesting. They mated and took care of each other also. Even the unmated ones helped the other out. It was so heartwarming to see.

Very beautiful capture of this pair of cardinals, Andrea. You are so right....money and "stuff" does not buy happiness. And your cardinals are perfect examples of how to live happily on very little!! Very well done!!
