These bright blue flowers appear each year as the snow melts off the lawn. They hid in a little rock garden on the east side of the house, down in the dead leaves.

They're pretty shy, too and don't like to be photographed. No matter what I do or which camera I use, they are mostly severely out of focus when I get inside.

This one must have been caught unawares as the focus is rather good for one of these little guys.
