this is beautiful work. i guess if the time ever comes, and hopefully it never will, but if the time ever comes when complete disillusionment has grabbed you by the throat and you cut into these "icons" of possibility, hopefully a EMT team will be on hand to respond fast.

I have just removed a comment from someone that noticed the scar on the wrist chiding me to not cut myself.

I would not normally feel it necessary to do that but I will point out that this image is not me but of a young woman whom I consider as if a daughter and love dearly.

Because I predominantly use myself for figurative images it was a natural presumption to presume it was me but by the same token if this was not an interactive site this would not be an issue that I would have to clarify.

I feel the image is about emotion...whether good or bad it doesn't matter and out of respect for this young friend I did not include any text as I thought it irrelevant.

What is relevant is that people relate to it one way or another from different paths of experience whether positive or negative.

I will say that she offered her hands up to me in an open gesture of great humility and openness in the same way that she is in life. She has endured great sorrow in one so young and yet is a positive affirmation of hope, trust and I might add great love towards others... I saw the scar on her wrist and she told me why she had tried to harm herself.. Maybe that's part of what the image is about..being able to unburden sorrow and heal....

Yes...I wish I knew a way to unburden my own sorrows...and when I initially saw this image, I did see the scar, Michele...but it was an afterthought compared to the profound gesture of being open...of offering...of trust, in a world where there is so little of it. This image smacks of beauty and of LIFE! Your deletion of a flippant comment is testimony to the emotion you infused this image with. Life is but a dream...and you...are so remarkable a woman...and friend:)

A gentle perforation in my morning, this that will allow the two halves of my day to fold along the line: work and rest, though there is little difference between the two anymore it seems, just as in "hope" and "trust," the conjoined notions they are.
