Someone recently commented on one of my images of a piece of feminine clothing...they called it an" empty nude" meaning I am surmising that it suggested the presence of a nude.

It made me think as no one else saw it that way but this one person.

Do we bring to images as a viewer our own level of imagination, judgement and experiences good and bad or do we view them objectively?

Do we acknowledge those tendencies when we comment on an image as sometimes those comments reveal more about the viewer than the image itself...and are we brave enough to make those comments?

Something to ponder on for the rest of the day perhaps.....

This is a favorite linen dress...old,wrinkled and well loved..It reminds me of summer breezes, walks in forests in the cool afternoons of spring and as the sun is shining brightly today it is what I wear today .......or maybe it is an empty nude.

P.S. Art is there to make you think... to experience emotion and maybe question what that emotion illicits in yourself and why you respond to it..

Love to all xo

BRAVO, Michele. Yes, art is to make us think....and expand our views, ideas, and imaginations so that we may continue to grow out of our supposed selves. Absorption is paramount in my humble opinion. The choice to turn away is exactly everything that turning away entails...a recoil into the past and the comfortable...I do not look at photography for my comfort. I look for it to move me...to spark a match that ignites me from within.

Much love to a wise old soul...from another soul...learning to fly:)

Yes, 'empty nude' .. it's a great title and description of your image(s) and in your hands it will make a wonderful and deep excavation ... I dream and wait :-)
