I have a love and respect of old objects ...to me they hold an energy or lifeforce within their provenance that sometimes I can feel or connect to.
I was musing yesterday in my sun filled winter corner thinking of a project that could involve some of the brilliant women photographers on this site.In some of my recent images I have been using items that I own or have been given to me by those I love or have loved. There was such an immediate response from my JPG women friends that it got me thinking.
My idea was to find an object or piece of clothing that I hold dear to me...it could be something I have inherited from someone or an object from perhaps childhood ,,to try to capture that energy or "ghosts" as Kathleen M suggested and to post it around the world to anyone interested to interpret in their own way or their own surroundings....kind of like going on a world holiday picking up energy and the love from those people involved..Free to interpret in whatever way...and then to post it to the next person until it eventually came back to me...It could result in a series of really interesting images that maybe we could all link to and post as a collaborative photo essay/story.
If any one is interested please leave me your thoughts and lol I even thought this could be a long term project over the years to continue with and eventually exhibit as a whole...Kind of like a feminine collective of energy and love..

Please feel free to leave your thoughts on the idea or email me if you would like to be involved.
Much love and have a sun filled day :)

Of course this image is just to accompany the idea and naturally once anyone is interested in participating I shall find an object that maybe could be a starting point and post that image on JPG and then mail it on.

Oh fantastic Jen.!... Yesterday I oddly thought of receiving one of your dolls to use in an image....eventually maybe those involved could circulate something they cherish to all the others who participate xo

LOL! You already know my excitement and sentiments in full. This would be a wonderful way for us jpg women to connect with each other, and infuse each others' objects with our own ghosts as we pass them from person to person. It is a beautiful idea...and I couldn't be looking forward to it more. You already know of my belief that objects are infused with the energy of the people who have handled or loved them...and that they become more storied with the passage of time, tears, hands.

In fact, over the Christmas holidays, I had a very dear friend send me something in the mail. I knew that the object had been tucked inside this person's jacket pocket. Little things like that...well...the first thing that I did it was hold it to my face and smell it...hoping to breathe in my friend. I think that for women this intertwining of objects, past songs, future songs, all come together in the present...memory mixed with present moments.

I hope that we will continue to do this, definitely over the years...once one object has rotated, we can start the next one in motion...on and on...our own special songs to each other...

    I'M IN!!!!!!!!!:):):)

Photograph your original item and upload to JPG as a starting image and then mail to the person who's name appears under the list until it eventually returns to you...maybe consider doing a final image once it is back in your hands...Will link everyone's images and everyone will eventually have 8/9 images of their own work to maybe use as a photo essay..

I think everyone is spending a bit of time finding the right object before mailing so there is no hurry.
