Truly the light is sweet, and a pleasant thing to see the sun... Ecclesiastes 11:7
This is the first day for a week that we have seen sunshine...It had been raining off and on for almost two weeks.

I went outside to work with the lighting using myself as a guinea pig.
Bright sunshine is a big challenge and not the best lighting to work with as it can cause harsh shadows across the face...I decided even though it was bright outside I had to use flash and the manual focus feature of my Nikon 40 DX camera.

This type of lighting may not be what photographers like to tackle when taking pictures of important events. They have to contend with it regardless. I prefer using the manual focus feature over auto focus or program in bright sunlight where I can have control of setting the aperture and shutter speed.

Consequently, I stopped down my aperture to F/18 with 125 shutter speed.. 93mm focal length. The Common Elderberry bush in back of me has blobs of light and shadow from the sun...and I got some of the lighting on my face and clothing but not the shadows.

Thank you everyone for your kind words. A lot of photography is in working with the light whether it be too much light, lack of it or somewhere in between. I am still learning and maybe someday I will be enlightened.
