A daisy in the yard after a torrential downpour today. I know it looks like HDR but it's not. It is just tonemapped in photomatics and the some minor adjustments in photoshop plus the addition of a high pass filter blended in overlay mode and then an unsharp mask applied to the merged result. What is actually interesting about this one is the way it was taken. I used a Canon EOS 5d Mark II and a Canon 50mm f1.4 lens but the lens was not attached to the camera. I took it off and turned it around backwards and held it up to the camera body which allowed me to get much closer than I otherwise could. It makes for some odd focus due to the elements all being inverted and the result can look like it was taken using a lens baby or something like it. Just be quick and be careful since your sensor is very suceptible to dust and moisture during this operation
