All things are full of labour~the thing that hath been, it is that which shall be; and that which is done is that which shall be done: and there is no new thing under the sun...Ecclesiastes 1:8-9

Cutting dead trees
Thru' the centuries
For firewood...
Is not folklore...
It is understood!

Work is found,
There is more
To be done
Before the sun
Goes down.

I shot this picture of my husband cutting some dead trees in our woods next to the spring...There were many trees that had fallen down from the wind storm earlier...We should have enough wood to keep us warm this winter. He was so busy that he did not see me taking his picture:) He keeps the weight off with all of this exercise and hard work.

I hope you're feeding him well! He really earns his keep.

You hit the nail on the head...He really does earn his keep..He is blessed he can still do this hard work at 70 years old ...He climbed up higher than the ladder would reach in our friend, Florence's maple tree a couple of days ago to dislodge a limb that got stuck while he was cutting some of the lower branches down...I held my breath that he would not fall out of the tree, but instead of turning my head I shot pictures of the process it took to get the
limb dislodged and he scampered down safely when the job was done.

Would love to go out and cut our own wood supplies, I have to buy it and it's expensive and very often too wet to burn, nice shooting Andrea..

This is a great photo Andrea. I really like it because it is candid, plus it shows that your husband is a hard worker that is fit and healthy.

Very creative composition, Andrea. Your husband sounds a lot like mine. :) They are blessed to be able to work as they do at this time of their lives. Dave will be 69 in December, but he can outdo a lot of 40 year olds. I can see he is very slim....that is another advantage of being able to stay active and get lots of exercise!! Great shot, Andrea!!!

We collect our own firewood too.. a job that's not for the faint of heart.. but most rewarding.. and it warms you up several times over. This is a very nice shot!
