My wife and I are currently on a cross-country journey from Speedway, Indiana to Seattle, where I am from.

On our way, we are passing through as many cool places as we can stomach. Today, among other places, we hit the infamous, and rarely visited, South Dakota Badlands, mentioned in the Beatles song, "Rocky Racoon".

We saw amazing landscapes (shown here) made mostly of mud, believe it or not, plus bison, pronghorns, and prarie dogs.

I really want to come here and spend a week hiking and climbing in the park. There's a special thrill to inching out over the razor thin ridges with hundred foot drops at both sides.
