Thuringen, Germany. 2007.

It was my first backpack trip to Europe, and my wonderful host - Hartmut, took me on the road to venture around his region and show me how beautiful the country is. It is so different from where I come from, where wide open space is an invaluable luxury. I like this image alot, can't say why. Probably because it reminds me of Pearl Jam's Yield album cover.

I like the feel of the road in this shot at first impression. The interesting vertical lines in the sign polls, tree and posts all add up to good balance. The horizontal line (path) the people are creating is good. The lovely hills in the background top off this image very nicely. I see Jam's image here and a lot more!
