This is a view of Piazza della Cisterna from atop the bell tower of 13th century Palazzo del Podesta, located in the stunning Tuscan village of San Gimignano.

I have a height phobia when it comes to stairs and platforms I can see through. Didn't realize until it was too late I'd have to deal with both to get to the top and down from this tower. I avoided a panic attack by not looking down until I reached the top of the tower and by thinking about the great shots I was about to get.

It looks like it was worth overcoming your fears. The next time, it will be easier.

This is wonderful, Deborah that you overcame your fear to shoot this picture ...I get very nervous in small elevators and especially after I got stuck in one for 20 minutes with 5 people...The air was stifling and I was ready to pass out before the problem got fixed...I don't have a picture of that experience.

Wonderful theme entry!! I did the same thing from the top of the St. Louis arch....too busy getting shots to think about the fact that I was 509' in the air!!

It's a beautiful shot, Deborah - and you are NOT alone in that fear. I hate ladders, open stairs, and heights in general.
