These irises are descendants from my grandmothers yard. I remember thinking they were so beautiful when walking among them as a young child. I still feel that way as an adult!!
No one lives at the old home place now, so when we built our home, we raided the old one!!! There were so many plants there that I loved. I have many species of grandmas flowers!

I hope this makes her smile up there!!!!

Beautiful. I so regret having not moved more of my grandmother's plants and flowers from my old house. The iris was her favorite flower.

This is really neat Betty. You are lucky to have these gorgeous flowers! I don't have any of my Grandmothers Iris, but I have lots of Tiger Lillies from the old homeplace. I wouldn't part with them for anything.

A brilliant entry, Betty...Very beautifully photographed..We did the same thing with my folk's Irises many years ago at the home place...They had moved to a different spot on their property after their other house had burned to the ground in 1951 where the wild Irises were growing on that section of land and we dug them up and I am so happy that we did....I love them...

Excellent capture, Betty!!! I love any color of Irises - the white are magnificent. How wonderful that you have the descendant of your grandmothers flowers. Did she have any old roses?
