A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold in pictures of silver...Proverbs 25: 11

This morning I found the trellis that the suet block is attached to was flattened down to the feeder ..No doubt a raccoon paid another visit after dark and jumped on it...I raised the trellis up again and bent it back in place...It is not fancy but the birds love to perch on it over the feeder to survey their surroundings.

The rusty trellis
Could probably tell us
It is bent and broken
Without words spoken..
Although it is old
A bird of the air
The color of gold,
Likes to rest there.

Like Davide said, your poetry is wonderful as is the image. I can see how the birds would love this trellis to survey their surroundings!!!

That is a big one! We only seem to get the juveniles or females. A handsome one!

Thank you for the comments...Actually Donald, the male goldfinch is very tiny...He just looks big
because I mostly use my telephoto on macro..and I bring the birds in close...That's like a tiny
flower can look huge by using the macro feature of the telephoto or even a bug. That said it
is not always easy to focus through the window when the birds are moving around constantly
and they don't all turn out.
