He knoweth our frame...Psalms 103: 14

I had no clue that our pup would walk in this picture behind me and that she would be framed so
well in the spinning wheel ... Even more unusual she stayed still until the self-timer went through the 10 second process. I think she is getting familiar with the workings of my camera and anticipated being in the picture frame with me.

I was experimenting here with night lighting and a slow shutter speed with the reproduction spinning wheel that I had practiced with in previous photo for the early morning shot on the spinning theme.. I shot this self portrait at 7:24PM...I think this image fits the Anticipation theme better and the previous picture shows more of the blurred effect of my hand spinning the wheel.

I dedicate this photo to my late father, Andrew whose birthday would be on August 5th...He was a Wheels man on the Great Lakes before he retired..I think he would approve of this picture and hopefully of my heartfelt poetry that I wrote in his memory.

Quickly the years fly
And memories spin by;
Like my hand on the wheel
Too soon we'll grow old
E'en as young as we feel.

This page is a tribute to Dad
I remember the stories he told
Of his carefree days as a lad...
He was proud to win a school contest
On the map of the United states
That he memorized for a test.

He spoke about the Great Lakes
Where he worked as a Wheels man
He once saved a drowning man
Who fell overboard in the water

Thank you for being a good father
E'en thru' the years on distant shore.
Oh how I wish I had told you this more,
When you were still alert and alive....
Happy birthday, Dear Dad, August five
Love, from your grateful daughter.

Poetry by me AJP written on August 5th. 2014
In memory of Dad, 1908-2003

Thank you for the comments...Barbara, I bought the hat and the blouse together for 99 cents
each at a thrift store sale a few days ago..For that price I couldn't pass it up:) There are very
few ladies where we live who wear hats and every time we go anywhere I get complimented
    for wearing them....

Thank you for the comments.. Don, I love the shade of blue that I am wearing on the portrait...
My mother used to dress my sister in blue and she dressed me in red when we were little kids
as she thought those were our colors..and for several years I didn't wear blue:)

Thank you all for your response. I did not realize until afterward that the lacy side of this blouse
is supposed to be worn on the back where the manufacturers tag was...the front has a pocket
with some lace on the pocket. and of course there is lace on the sleeves...Dumb me I thought
since it had buttons that it should have been worn on the front.....Never had a blouse like that
before to compare it to:) I still love the color and I am not sorry that I bought it.
