A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance...Ecclesiastes 3: 4

Yes, the tears did flow
Neath' the weeping willow tree
Eight long years ago....
As mama held him tenderly...
Poetry by me, AJP

I shot this of my niece Christy and her youngest son Gus in 2006 underneath our weeping willow tree (before a storm knocked it down a few years later.) I don't remember what Gus was crying about then but it was a precious part of childhood... I think he was a little camera shy at that time of his life... Gus is a big boy now, a high achiever and the top of his class in grade school.. He also loves drama that he signed up for this year...

Since the blog mentioned for us to take pictures of tears I found this one from my archives of a
tender moment without actually showing the tears....The weeping willow tree is rather symbolic of the stages of life. The logo on Christy's shirt says "Life is Good."

Thank you all for the kind words. I have shot very few pictures over the years of anyone crying ...I would not make a good photojournalist as I hold back pointing a camera into the face of real grief:) This was such a tender moment however between mother and son that I felt like I had to
    capture it....
