Not what one would expect of "A City Walk" yet this is a daily morning routine in cities across IndoChina.

The monks walk to collect alms, mostly in the form of food offerings, which will be their only meal for the day. Instead of them thanking the donors, it is the donors who thank the monks for the opportunity to "gain merit".

The city, in this instance, is Ayutthaya, a small quiet city about 80 km north of Bangkok, Thailand.

I was surprised to discover (from Wikipedia) that Ayutthaya was once, back in 1700,

the busiest and most populous city in the world, with a population of over 1 million and attracting traders from across Asia, the Middle East and Europe.
