I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom and whatsoever shalt bind on earth shall be bound
in heaven...Matthew 16: 19

She was getting low on suet
But was bound to enter thru' it
When found tween' the bars,
For how she earned her lucky stars...

To receive the missing key
and unlock where to find...
Was with her eyes to see....
What was left behind.
Poetry by me AJP
(inspired by Matthew 16: 19)

This is out of the box for how I usually photograph woodpeckers, but caught her framing her head behind and between the bars of the suet block...These birds are highly intelligent and resourceful. The female red-bellied woodpecker does not have the red color extend across her whole head as does the male for how you can tell them apart.

Thankfully we had more suet to set out there on this extremely bitter cold winter day with minus 25 below wind chill... We stocked up on suet earlier...She was getting to the end on this shot and put out more since, so they are back in business again.
