I must walk today, and tomorrow and the day following...St. Luke 13: 33

I shot this on the back trail of our woods of my husband and our little dog last month on an overcast day as they were walking underneath the arch of a bent tree. We do a lot of walking and average about 2 miles a day when it is not raining.

Tippi, our dog who is young and energetic goes absolutely crazy when she hears us say walk.
She can't wait to get started. This morning we saw a sad sight on our back trail that I did not capture with my camera. Two baby raccoons were lying dead of distemper and the third one would die soon.. Thankfully our dog knew enough to not go near them. In the law of nature a vulture will get rid of the remains.

We take our walking sticks
And watch for wood ticks,
But there is good to capture
Among other insects not big...
Along the hiking trail of nature
Such as the dragonfly on a twig

E'en more wonderful to see
Are the feet who walk with me
Of man and dog neath' the tree...
Poetry by me, AJP

An added note is that I gave the Fujifilm camera that I used on this picture to my husband for his birthday at the end of May...It works beautifully on overcast days but without a view finder I was having problems on sunny days. He also bought a very tiny used Kodak Share camera at a thrift store recently for sunny days that has a viewfinder but he likes the Fujifilm Finepix as I did for overcast days..

Thank you so much Barbara Kurth for the courtesy of the spotlight on 6/18/2015

I replaced this for a shot time with another entry but decided this one fit the challenge better...

You have such a beautiful wooded area to take your walks and see nature up close, plus you get quite a bit of shade.
