Thy statutes have been my songs in the house of my pilgrimage. Psalms 119: 54

A wren sings its joyful song
From her heart and mouth
Though much can go wrong
To tear apart her old house...

She anticipates blessings,
No matter what is bestowed,
To be heard by nestlings
Who will reside in the abode..
Poetry by me AJP

This little bird house has been used by wrens for their nests but also has been torn apart by raccoons or squirrels who sometimes like to eat the eggs...It has been clabbored together several times. Birds don't expect a heaven on earth or a fancy house, but do anticipate finding a shelter where they can raise their young until they leave the nest. The wren counts her blessings. Today we heard her singing her heart out as we were passing by her humble home. There is nothing more beautiful than to hear a wren sing their melodic song...My husband who was walking with me was truly amazed that she allowed us to get close enough to photograph her when other times he has seen her fly away. She let us enter her world to hear the music of her soul....

Thank you so much Ann Reece for nominating this photo on 7/20/2015...Very appreciated!!!

Lovely photo. So sweet! I like that the texture of the boards is so clear, rough, worn paint. A rustic home for the brood.
