The ruins of this castle are on the northwest coast of Jersey, with a broad view of the sea. Several other islands can be seen -- Guernsey, Sark, and Little Sark.

The castle dates back to the 1300s and apparently was built to shelter the locals from French attacks around the time of the Hundred Years War. It changed hands between the locals and the French a few times. It was finally dismantled in the 1400s and the granite stones re-used to fortify a local manor house.
