We were walking on our trail today in the woods and on the far end of the trail 150 yards away stood a white-tail doe...I quietly told my husband to stand still and not move as there is a deer ahead of us and then I knelt down on the ground to shoot the picture.

Tippi, as her habit usually runs ahead of us but she stopped still in her tracks also...The deer and the dog had a face off and stared at each other. The doe stamped her foot at Tippi to warn her not to come any closer and Tippi, just stood there until the deer decided to leave...I was very proud of her that she didn't bark, nor did she run after the deer and behaved very well.

Thank you so much Tiia Vissak for the nomination of this photo on 10/1/2016...Very appreciated.

A remarkable shot, most dogs would chase the deer once it moved. I really like this shot Andrea!

Wow...amazing timing and Tippi is lucky, although sweet looking, that deer could have gone hurt little Tippi!!!

Thank you all for your comments and a special thanks to to Tiia for nominating this picture.
Tippi has learned from experience after a fawn snorted loudly at her two years ago and she has not forgotten! .It taught her a lesson not to chase deer...Yet she was curious with this one and through mental telepathy they passed signals to each other in silent communication that only animals can understand!.
