I saw the gentleman with the beard earlier in a Wal mart store and thought he had an interesting face to photograph but I waited until he was at the check out aisle as I wanted this to be a natural candid where I would not be noticed shooting this picture...The cashier whose name tag said James was waiting on another customer also had his attention diverted! I am not always comfortable at going up to complete strangers to ask permission to shoot their portrait as in some cases it spoils the spontaneity of capturing the natural moment and of them being a part of a scene where it is not singling them out as the focal point of the picture
if that makes sense.

Best viewed in Light-box! Thank you!

Your hesitation in approach makes complete sense and the candid nature is the beauty of this capture...

Thanks for the comments..The truth of the matter is that I was very relieved after I shot this
candid that I wasn't noticed ..I shot one quick picture and then put my camera away! I was
waiting for my husband at the time who was buying groceries on the other side of the aisle, who the cashier was waiting on but not shown on this picture and the opportunity just came up for this grab shot!.
