Tokyo Tower, Japan

The structure is Eiffel Tower-inspired but painted white and orange to comply with air safety regulations.

It is the second tallest structure in Japan at 332.9 metres (1,092 ft), slightly taller than the original Eiffel Tower in Paris.

Whilst the Eiffel Tower was built to celebrate 100 years of the French Revolution in 1889, the Tokyo Tower was built to symbolize the country's ascendancy as a global economic power. The Japanese built the tower from remaining steel pieces of the battle tanks left during the the World War II.

Today, Tokyo Tower is the world's tallest, self-supported steel tower.
