Two wild birds of the air
Said they didn't care to share
The tasty suet hanging there.....
At least not for today......

Who came first got his way;
Hairy woodpecker fixed its stare
to scare the young blue jay....
Off the feeder and far away....

The Blue Jay came back later when the coast was clear...Not sure why they couldn't eat together but they must have had their reasons:) It is interesting to watch the interactions between the birds and how they settle their problems.

Best View in Light Box! Thank you!!!

    What a delightful standoff you've captured here.. and again, your poetry says it so well. Birds of a feather they do not seem to be :)
