I have been going through some of my archival pictures of the past..This is a candid I shot of my late mother. The Methodist church that she was member of had an advance birthday celebration for her on July 12 , 2009 , (6 days before she would have turned 100 years years old on July 18, that year. )

A luncheon was held at the Senior Center later on after the morning service, where I shot this picture of my mother's hand on a little dog that one of the young guests brought into the room. After the luncheon, the church held a musical program that my mother who had been the organist there for many years took part in along with other musicians in the area including my sister, her daughter and cousins who lived a distance away... Although this wasn't pertinent to all that went on in the celebration honoring her birthday I am glad I shot this humble picture of my mother's love for dogs and preserved it. I had not looked at this image for several years but it touched my heart when I saw it again.

Thank you so much for your kind words....It warmed my heart to look at this photo again but at
the same time one doesn't ever entirely get over losing a parent. Photography truly preserves memories and these are the kinds of images we need to be capturing of our loved ones as they grow older ...Pictures that capture the heart and soul of who they were.

Photos like this really are the best keepsakes and they're priceless, too. Wonderful detail and mood in this image also.
