Enjoying whatever sun to catch
Is the White breasted Nuthatch
He at rest seems in a deep trance
Feeling blest for the circumstance.

While still perched on the bowl;
Perhaps he thanked God in prayer
Granting him comforts for his soul;
Before joining Chickadee in the air.
┬ęPoetry by me AJP

It felt good for both birds and humans to see and feel the sun shining today and this bird was expressing his pleasure by staying transfixed rooted in one spot on the edge of the bowl while sun bathing at around 20 degrees.

Best View in Light Box! Thank you!

    A beautiful relaxed pose and I love the eye contact. A great close-up capture!

    Thank you Heather...I have seen these nuthatches other times go into a hypnotic state when
    they are basking in the sun and they so enjoy these pleasures in the winter time when they
    find a little warmth even though the temperatures are cold!
