Thought I had better shoot a self portrait with the cover of an art book I bought from a library
book sale awhile ago before it wears out completely from me holding it for a series of portraits
that I have doing showing some of the works of master Dutch painters of the seventeenth century, The book is getting old but have been enjoying studying the works of art from the skillful painters of the past. One thing I have learned from this series is that I am preferring existing light from the floor lamp over the harsh flash I started out with....and may do a few over for the series. Photography is painting with light and one can learn from the artists of past history. By positioning the light from the lamp over my head it makes my hair look blonde and I also teased up my hair to give it more volume. Never have been a blonde in my life until now thanks to the floor lamp:-)

Love the rich tones and detail in this beautiful capture. It's a great series, certainly not an easy project to take on. Very well done!!

Thank you for your comment Heather....No, it is not an easy project and I have deleted more
pictures than I kept because they all don't turn out the way that I want it to..
