" if we have been planted together in the likeness of His death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection. 1st Corinthians 6:14"

Nature made an earthly pillow
Of dried leaves for His head...
Where a victim of April snow
A migrating robin lay dead.....
As new plant life were to grow......
Around the grave by its bed....

My heart broke when I found this poor robin late this afternoon who didn't survive through our recent April blizzard but still beautiful in death as new plant life grows around him...symbolic of life and death this Easter weekend....I felt badly after traveling so many miles on their migratory journey his life should end this way..

Such a heartbreaking sight to come across Andrea. I can imagine how you must have felt. This is a stark reminder of the perils our wild bird populations face when it comes to weather like that. It was such a beautiful bird, too!

Thank you Heather for your comment... I hesitated at first to post this picture but as you say
it is a reminder that severe weather can be tough on our feathered friends who all don't make it through the storms of life. it might have been one of the birds who I photographed earlier who was trying to round up crab apples off the tree that had fallen in the snow...but when they can't dig for worms under the snow it is a desperate situation for them.

That's what I was thinking too Andrea, that it might have been one of those birds. It represents an important side of photography that we sometimes overlook.
