This handsome Himalayan cat has a perfectly good home across the road but he has the heart of a wanderer. Every so often I have to encourage him to leave my yard in order to try to protect the song birds who nest here because he comes here to hunt them.

Thank You Lynn for the nomination.. it is very appreciated!!

Thank You to the JPG Staff for the spotlight.. it is really appreciated!!

Thank You Lizl Bennefeld for the nomination.. it is very appreciated!!

A very handsome cat and what a beautiful capture of him ..I can imagine how frustrating when he has a good home and looks healthy and well fed that he has the hunting instinct in his blood and a taste for birds...Birds have it tough also with predators robbing their nests of eggs before the babies hatch...Yesterday we saw a red bellied woodpecker at the feeder eating suet who had recently lost an eye and not sure how that happened, if it got poked out on a sharp branch or from battle with a predator...but he was able to get around with the one to see and had a good appetite.

Thank you for your comment Andrea. Yes it is frustrating and today I found the feathers of a little junco that had been caught near the feeders. So it was likely one of the cats who prowl around the area that got it. It's something I hate to see. I feel so bad for the red bellied woodpecker who lost an eye. I hope he will make out okay but it puts him at such a disadvantage doesn't it and the possibility it will get infected too. Thank goodness he has your suet feeder to rely on.
