We flew to Miami and drove the length of the Florida Keys (U.S. Route #1) to Key West. I was anxious to see it, especially since our family lived at the Key West Naval Air Station, 1949-51. I have a few memories of our years there.

There was a lot to do and see. High on our list was the sunset, which attracted throngs of tourists and a few serious photographers (not me, obviously) to famous Mallory Square.

Sunsets are pretty much the same the world over, but it was a privilege to capture this moment from the southern most point in the continental US, just 90 miles from Havana.

I am thankful to my mother and father for so many reasons.

As usual, thanks for stopping by!
