Til' now I was not e'en aware........
Of this aged profile in tree root
Didn't know it was even there.....
Til' stumbling on it with foot.....

Saw a "granny", hands folded in prayer
With glasses and babushka head wear
Her eyes closed in reverence
The root of benevolence!

It never ceases to amaze me what art nature offers that opens our eyes to stop and look!
I deepened the contrast, outlining around it to sharpen it so that the profile could be seen more clearly in the lined root of the tree.... I don't know how I missed seeing this before but it was not something that really stood out on the ground until I studied it to see what I did after I almost stubbed my toe on it. I pulled away some of the grass and leaves that had covered it before.

Do you see the little "butterfly" ingrained in the wood toward the bottom of the photo by my name? Loved seeing this and I hope in some way it will inspire others to look for the tree roots where you live...

The contrasting tones and textures in this old tree root really shine here.. and from my point of view I can see a number of interesting details alongside the 'granny' figure, including the face of a bird at the top and the head of an animal with horns at the bottom. Fascinating capture Andrea!

Thank you for the comments..It is so much fun to see the patterns in wood ...It seems like
the more one looks the more one sees ..which is what makes photography interesting.
