[North of Crested Butte, Colorado]

If you were watching PBS on Sunday afternoon during the 1980s and early 90s, you were probably watching Bob Ross, who painted with knives and house brushes. Bob, who died too young, at 52, was an American Icon.

During Bob's long-running show, he painted hundreds of canvasses, all of them in about 25 minutes. Often, near the end of the show, his painting would be finished early, and then Bob would have time to kill. You knew what was coming -- a "happy" tree (or two or three)!

Bob painted a lot of happy trees. In fact, about 95% of his paintings featured prominent happy trees. And they were always dropped in front of his beautiful mountains and valleys!

Often I would see Bob looking at his watch and taking out that fan brush, and I would say, "No, Bob! Don't do it!" But, to no avail. And as Bob started dropping in his happy trees, he would gently remind us that we "could do anything we wanted in our world."

Ordinarily, I would not have uploaded this, but it reminded me so much of Bob Ross that I decided to.

Bob, you are missed by millions.

As always, thanks for stopping by!

Thank you, Heather, for the spotlight!

Gorgeous image!! And I love the 'happy' trees in the foreground. You can be sure that Bob would have loved that too. A view of autumn splendor at its finest, Richard!!

You captured some wonderful fall folliage along with a pretty blue sky! I am probably one of the few that didn't watch Bob Ross but sounded like he was an accomplished man.
