I was wandering around a field in Lempster, New Hampshire, with my Canon Rebel XT and a kit lens with no real intention of shooting anything special, when I saw this guy weaving through the grass and weeds. He stopped, so I stopped and moved closer... closer... just a little closer... until I was just inches from his face! He posed like this for at least a minute, which gave me time to get this shot~ Looking back I would probably process it, but hey, this is the shot as it came from a crappy dslr with really crappy glass~

Intense perspective and great focus. Are you using a telephoto lens, or are you up close?

Thanks, everybody! This little guy did most of the work for me... Most photojournalists will admit that a great photo is 95% being in the right place at the right time!

Crappy glass but no crappy shot...I think one of the best snake shots I've seen!
