“A Tonga da Mironga do Kabuletê”

Eu caio de bossa
Eu sou quem eu sou
Eu saio da fossa
Xingando em nagô

Você que ouve e não fala
Você que olha e não vê
Eu vou lhe dar uma pala
Você vai ter que aprender

A tonga da mironga do kabuletê (5x)

Eu caio de bossa
Eu sou quem eu sou
Eu saio da fossa
Xingando em nagô

Você que lê e não sabe
Você que reza e não crê
Você que entra e não cabe
Você vai ter que viver

Na tonga da mironga do kabuletê (5x)

Lá, lá, lá, iá...

Você que fuma e não traga
E que não paga pra ver
Vou lhe rogar uma praga
Eu vou é mandar você

Pra tonga da mironga do kabuletê...

Something happened
among the hustle and bustle of Porto Alegre's Bus terminal as the song shown here played off of someone's walkman. Then someone else looked into my eyes and smiled and we laughed without knowing what happened. Among hundreds of strangers all waiting to go on their own journeys I felt as if I finally belonged. Brazil-February 2007.

In the Have a Seat photo essay.

Also in the story Things that make you go, "Hmmm.".

It's hard to pin point why i love this image, but i love it.. maybe it's the familiar scene that you see in every airport or international bus station.. all over the world.. well captured.

I like that several people are looking in the same corner, making the viewer wonder what happened. Also, the fact that nobody is glaring at you for pointing a camera in their general direction says "this wasn't in the U.S.A."

No. Unfortunately, not since the sixties... Good eye, Michael. Look at how relaxed “we” are, even though I ain't there, and I've left over two decades ago...
Sim, Michel, vc. aí neste instante, entendeu tudo... Saravá!
