Photo Essay

RIP Jesse

Jesse and I had formed a friendship through photography. It wasn't until I moved in with him that I found out that he was an addict. And it wasn't until just after I took these photos that I learned how serious he was about wanting to end his life. These were taken right before I took him to rehab which was just after he had made an attempt on his own life by laying on some train tracks. A month after he went to rehab he was found by his family in a hotel room where he had finally made a successful attempt to commit suicide.
