The World's Largest Clock Peddler

The World's Largest Clock Peddler Photo Essay #1

Carved by master woodcarver Samuel Kammerer and painted by local artist Werner Oppelt, here stands the world's largest clock peddler in the heart of the Black Forest exclusively at Parkhotel Wehrle Café, Triberg, Germany.

Unveiled on July 11, 2015 during our trip to the Black Forest region of Germany, I was able to capture this unique piece of artwork standing at 4.20 meters high. Clock peddlers were responsible for making the Black Forest cuckoo-clocks world famous as they peddled their product across Europe and the world.

We also visited master woodcarver Samuel Kammerer's workshop and showroom located in Triberg-Nußbach where he carves a variety of items including cuckoo-clocks and carnival masks.
