Tulips in Holland

During the spring of 2015, I had the splendid opportunity to visit Keukenhof "kitchen garden" in Lisse, Netherlands. The name derives from the land the garden sits upon, as it was once a source of herbs for a nearby castle's kitchen. As one of the world's largest flower gardens, Keukenhof features a variety of botanicals, but is famous for tulips.

I was beyond delighted to be able to visit this world famous garden and to experience the tulips of Holland. My camera just loves flowers; well I guess I just love flowers. I've always been attracted to photographing flowers and other nature like many photographers. How can you not be attracted to Mother Nature's beauty?

The different varieties of tulips are immense and glorious with beauty all around, at all angles, from above and below. I tried to capture this beauty in my photographs as best I could with bursting colors and details. I have been editing tulip photographs over a five month period, but I am not complaining, it was a joy at every opportunity. In this photo essay, I am featuring a small selection of my tulip photographs from Keukenhof this past spring. If you would like to see more of my collection, please visit the link I included at the bottom.

Also, if you ever have the opportunity to plan a visit to Keukenhof in the beautiful Netherlands, I would suggest visiting the other link I have included to the site of "Tulips in Holland." This site is full of helpful information for those interested in seeing the best of the tulips in Holland. Sign up for the newsletter to receive emails detailing the current blooming status during the flowering season.

I hope you enjoy my tulips and if you love them as much as I do, please let me know in the comments. Happy shooting to you all!
