A Fall Family Tradition

Tiger and a Butterfly

Fall is my favorite time of the year. The colors, the smells, and the flavors of that season speak of family, home, and favorite customs. Attending the Great Pumpkin Festival at the Dallas Arboretum is among my family's treasured fall traditions. This popular yearly event includes a huge pumpkin patch, a pumpkin house with gourd landscaping and a gourd pond and swans, a large hay bale maze and hay rides, face painting, and art shows and concerts, plus loads of fall flowers. Amateur and professional photographers are drawn to this festival as much as the children. I tend to zero-in on the kids, especially my granddaughters, and the array of pumpkins and gourds.
