The People at 'Public Square'

Downtown Folks

I used to work in downtown Cleveland, Ohio. I feel like part of me is missing since my place of work has changed. I used to spend my luch hour every day seeing the world through my camera lense.

'Public Square' is in central downtown Cleveland, Ohio. It is frequented by all types of people. From the homeless, the average working business man or woman, construction workers, politicians, protesters and prostitutes.

If you are looking to people watch, you have found a great spot in Public Square. Most of the street corners are owned by the homeless, they stake out there territory and are there rain or shine asking for money, its a sad site. There is a duality in this place, while the small parks are lovely to look at and birds fill the trees, I dont often sit because of the smell of urine on the bushes.

Its not all bad, there are parades and street performers, police on horseback and bike patrols. Street vendors hawking there wares, from hot dogs and sausage to perfume and more. If you live in the area, take a second look at Public Square, there is a lot to see and learn from.

This is life, not always perfect, but its always interesting in downtown Cleveland, Ohio.
