Photo Essay

Keep a Straight Face!

Ayers Rock, Australia

Maybe it's genetic- his father is the same way. But since the very first time I went to England to see him back in 2002, he is absolutely incapable of taking a serious photo. It started the first time he took me to Oxford. "Here, I'll hide behind this pole, and you take my picture looking out from around it."

"Um.. ok." (weirdo!)

But for some reason, it became a theme wherever we went from then on. Him hiding, me snapping. Since then we have gotten married and traveled the world together. And yes, I have shots of him looking sneaky and odd in every single place.

At times when I'm down and feel I simply cannot laugh, I see these photos and feel lighter. He constantly reminds me that it is ok to be silly, and there is always time for random detours in life.
