On a Roll...

With life moving at lightning speed, it seems like the only time you might have to yourself, to simply sit down and ponder might be during a bathroom break. Some of your best ideas may come to you when you're languishing on the can, throne, loo, bog, latrine or privy; all great words for this fixture of modern sanitary society.
To be frank, things have come a long way from the simple hole dug in the ground frequented by our not-so-distant ancestors, but the porcelain god can still come in many forms, even some that are quite rudimentary. Take, for example, the dual toilets at the Sochi Olympic stadium, or the 24 karat gold toilet found in Hong Kong Hang Fung Gold Technology showroom, which is surely a throne to behold! Traveling through Japan, you might be quite amazed to find what passes for a toilet... especially when compared to 'western' commodes. Certainly, different cultures uniquely define what they require for 'waste disposal'.
If you've ever had your own small child or been engaged to tend a toddler, it seems that they all have the unique curiosity to explore each and every toilet they can possibly find. How many times have you heard an adventuresome 3 year-old proclaim his need for relief, only to find out later it was simply a tactic deployed to visit and compare the facilities without actually using them?
Even this most seemingly mundane fixture, can inspire great flights of imaginative image-making.
Take a look at the various restrooms that our JPG members and contributors have explored...
